What is Grant Nomad?
With over $30 million raised in grant funding for for-profit and non-profit clients worldwide in only 3 years, Grant Nomad is one of the fastest-growing boutique Grant Writing and Research companies worldwide. Far from being a lucky coincidence, we have embraced a unique work philosophy that enables our success.
We keep our client roster intentionally small so every engagement is senior-led, fast, and carefully managed. We work as a partner from the first funding conversation to the final upload, with clear scopes, honest go or no-go calls, and weekly touchpoints that keep momentum and quality high. When we believe the odds or timing are not right, we will say so. Protecting your credibility (and ours) matters.
Our services are practical and end-to-end. We provide targeted and bespoke grant research, design a funding strategy tailored to your milestones, write the proposals, develop the budgets, ensure compliance and attachments, manage portals and submissions, and support early post-award setup as scoped.
Private foundations account for $14 million, or 47% of our secured grant funding for clients to date, spanning the United States, Europe, Australia, Canada, and emerging markets in Africa and Southeast Asia. Government and federal U.S. programs contribute $11 million, or 36%, across the U.S., the European Union, Australia, the United Kingdom, and beyond. State and regional grant programs account for $5 million, or 17% of our secured grant funding, with wins in the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia, and Latin America.
We serve founders and institutions on both sides of the market. For-profit organizations have received 71% of the total funding we have helped clients win, including technology startups, medtech, SaaS platforms, energy efficiency companies, AI-driven products, and numerous other sectors. Nonprofits account for 29%.
Our sector depth reflects where evidence and impact intersect. Technology and innovation lead with 26% of awards, or about $7.8 million. Health and life sciences follow at 18%, or about $5.4 million. Education and workforce development represent 16%, or about $4.9 million. Environment and sustainability stand at 14%, or about $4.2 million. Community and economic development represents 12%, or about $3.6 million. Arts, culture, and humanities account for 8%, or about $2.5 million. Social services and human rights account for 6%, or about $1.9 million.
We focus on areas where we can change the outcome, including MedTech and HealthTech, Healthcare Delivery, Workforce Development and Skills, Small Business Empowerment and Ops, BioTech, Education and EdTech, Climate and Sustainability, Deep-Tech, AI, and many other sectors, along with adjacent work when the mission and evidence are strong.
Founding Philosophy
At Grant Nomad, we believe in the power of simple actions to create big waves. Our founder, Arnold Grabocka, ditched the comfort of his well-paid 9-to-5 in 2021 to explore the world with nothing but a backpack and 10 years of grant writing experience under his belt. His journey wasn't flashy – it was real, filled with small moments that added up to big changes for the communities that welcomed him. Your typical post-pandemic “The Great Resignation” story.
Soon enough Arnold realized that his freedom to roam had to also be balanced by a responsibility to bring forth good, helping local communities grow and thrive. As he traveled through bustling markets and quiet villages, he saw potential where others saw challenge. While trivially meeting activists, community leaders, students, and small entrepreneurs, each with a vision to uplift their community but without the means to make it happen, a lightbulb flickered into his head:
Why not mix the art of grant writing with the spirit of nomadic exploration to empower these communities?
That’s when it started! From non-profits in Mexico City to small businesses in Tbilisi and tech startups in Kuala Lumpur, over the next 24 months, Arnold combined his knowledge of grants and the first-hand understanding of the pulse of the places he visited, to empower local heroes and lift up underserved communities. This is where freedom meets responsibility. Grant Nomad is the result of that philosophy in action. It is what happens when you combine professional expertise with a passion for travel and a commitment to communities.
